Pickup mic. for the Saxophone Pasoana SC Series

The SC series Pasoana mic for saxophone gives me a completely even and well balanced signal with a high gain output allowing for superb tracking on my octave pedal. Feedback is no longer a problem. The volume control on the mic itself is a fantastic feature too.
The SC series is great to use alone, through effects, in combination with a standard stage mic. or for any situation where you want complete control over your signal.

Albert/Simple System Clarinets

Albert system (also known as German style) is the most commonly used clarinet type for Eastern European folk music. This type of clarinet has fewer number of keys than Boehm system clarinet. It is believed that this makes it easier for the player to move his fingers faster and reach half and quarter tunes quicker.

This type of clarinet on the other hand, has less fingering position options than Boehm system clarinets and because of the distance between the holes, it needs some finger stretching.

Apart from having different key system, Albert style clarinets have a slightly deeper sound than other type of clarinets. Thats why they fit well into folk and jazz music.

Most Albert system clarinets are made of Grenadilla, Mopany, Ebonite or Bakelite. However there are some low G clarinets that can be found, made of olive tree or metal as a low cost alternative to others.

Vintage/Old Clarinets

Since its invention, as the time passed the clarinet evolved and in every stage to something more complicated. This was either to add some extra tunes or to make it easier to play by adding extra keys and alternative fingering positions.

Eastern clarinet followed this evolution up until mid 18th century but stopped there and was not involved with the rest of the progress which ended in Boehm system clarinets. Instead the Eastern clarinet almost stayed the same apart from some small additions.

As it is not manufactured widely, it is not easy to find a modern Albert system clarinet unless you are ready to pay quite a lot of money. Thats why most people who are looking for Albert system clarinets make their search in old / vintage clarinets as they are closely related to modern Eastern clarinet.
